Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about our authentication service

About Authentication

What is the Mint Motors authentication service?

Our authentication service verifies the authenticity of 3D printed collectible cars using advanced Ed25519 cryptographic signatures. Each car comes with a unique QR code that can be scanned to confirm its authenticity.

How does the authentication process work?

1. Scan the QR code on your 3D printed car
2. Extract the signature and data values from the QR code
3. Enter these values in our authentication form
4. Receive instant verification of authenticity

What technology is used for authentication?

We use Ed25519, a state-of-the-art elliptic curve digital signature algorithm that provides 128-bit security strength with fast signature generation and verification.

Using the Service

Do I need an account to authenticate my car?

No, our authentication service is completely anonymous. You can verify your car's authenticity without creating an account or providing personal information.

Is there a limit to how many times I can authenticate a car?

No, you can authenticate your car as many times as you want. However, we implement rate limiting to prevent abuse of our service.

What should I do if my car fails authentication?

If your car fails authentication, first double-check that you've entered the signature and data values correctly. If the issue persists, your car may be counterfeit, or there could be a technical issue. Contact our support team for assistance.

Can I authenticate multiple cars at once?

Yes, we offer batch authentication for dealerships and collectors who need to verify multiple cars. This feature is available through our API.

Security & Privacy

How secure is the authentication process?

Extremely secure. Ed25519 signatures are resistant to quantum computing attacks and provide military-grade security. Each car's signature is unique and cannot be forged.

What data do you collect during authentication?

We collect minimal data necessary for the authentication process: the signature and data values from your QR code, your IP address for security monitoring, and timestamps. We do not collect personal information.

How long do you store authentication data?

We retain authentication data for 30 days for security monitoring purposes, after which it is securely deleted.

Technical Questions

What format should the data be in?

The data should be in the format: id|timestamp|number|publickey. For example: TM-DRAGON-0001|2025-11-02|0001|COLL1

What should I do if the website is down?

Check our system status page for information about service availability. If there's an outage, our team is working to restore service as quickly as possible.

Can I integrate authentication into my own application?

Yes, we provide a public API for developers. Documentation is available at /api-docs.html.

Collectors & Dealers

Do you offer bulk authentication for dealerships?

Yes, our batch authentication API allows dealerships to verify multiple cars efficiently. Contact our business team for more information.

How can I verify the authenticity of cars I'm considering purchasing?

Ask the seller to provide the QR code scan data, or scan the QR code yourself and verify it through our service before purchase.
